After a disastrous start to our holiday at another “resort” (see my review), we walked the beach to look for an alternative hotel and decided to check into Kiwenga Beach Resort. Great service from Victor (Manager). We got a brand new room. Very recently completed. Modern, stylish and everything we needed. They organised a taxi to take us to the “other resort” to check-out and bring to the resort. 3 x public pools (and private pools at some rooms) 3 x restaurants Gym Spa Tennis court Excursions (although maybe better to haggle on the beach for better prices) On beach jacuzzis On the beach direct access Walking distance to other local restaurants and the ll Pontile pier bar (see my other review) & restaurant (worth a visit during happy-hour) Great personal service from Zabron (Restaurant Manager from the restaurant) as we was introduced to him when they heard my wife is Vegan. Came to chat every time he saw us and even had the chef prepare special vegan food for my wife. (A couple of times) Angela (Customer Service) came to speak to us every time she saw us to ask how everything is going. I even remember everybody’s names (a first for me). That is how interactive all the staff is. If I had to be critical (and had to think hard for one), I would have loved a pool-menu and service to order “small eats” but this is definately not a deal breaker. Can definately recommend and will go back. Staff: 9/10 Food: 8/10 Cleanliness: 9/10 Maintenance: 9/10 Value: 9/10 Overall: 9/10 Hotel security on point as they ensure guests don’t get harassed (to much) by private local excursion sales people. Another great supporting gesture by the hotel is to allow the community to sell their products around the pool area on a Friday evening. This also allows customers to browse in a calm, relaxing environment and to buy from the locals. Really nothing bad to say and had a lovely 6-days here.

The hotel is very beautiful, clean and big. We went to several ones during our holiday in Zanzibar and this one was definitly the best! There are many things you can do (gym, spa, 3 pools, tennis court, 3 restaurants,…). The beach is beautiful as well, you can swim or take long walks. The food is very good, we loved the breakfast and the african night! The rooms are cute and cleaned very well everyday. The whole staff is friendly, caring and very hard working! I had an injury during our stay and I was taken good care of! Everybody helped me, looked after me and I was feeling very safe! Special thanks to Stella, Zebron (Kitchen) und Fatima (Housekeeping). You are so amazing!

Loved the staff. They made sure we felt welcome from the minute we stepped into the resort. Victor the floor manager made our stay superb and comfortable as ever. The staff at Kiwengwa is really superb, from Benito and Shukuru at the beach bar, Naomi at the African restuarant bar, Zebron the restuarant manager and Gisheka at the main restuarant, you guys are the best. Kiwengwa resort has beautiful ground, a great beach front. There are loads of activities from aqua aerobic to beach volleyball, to the planned evening entertainment. We were never bored. The different restuarants were also a plus and our favorite was the food at the African restuarant. Best Vacation spot.

First and foremost its the wonderful staff! They are doing above and beyond to make your stay the best possible. Service is great. Location is excellent, beautiful beach. Rooms are big and comfortable and clean, though can be maintained bit better in terms of wear and tear. Food variety is wide and rich and food staff is amazing! The staff of the hotel is always welcoming, smiling, trying to make you fell welcome and assist in every possible way. They upgraded my room to presidential Suite and were very attentive. Pool and fun activities are very nice. Bottom line - very good place that is primarily the staff that makes it the high score of 9 pts i gave them.

The property was beautiful! And so clean beyond my expectations. The staff were welcoming, professional and attentive it was so refreshing to receive the kind of service we had. The restaurant manager Zabron was amazing ensuring we were looked after throughout our stay alongside with the F.O Manager Victor, he advised us on local hot spots and helped us to sort out transportation for a very good price! The whole team was friendly and I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to go to Zanzibar!!
